No excuses

No excuses for not posting. Mostly, I can't think of much to post about. Granted, Joe Mauer is phenomenal but he will probably come back to earth a bit because that is baseball. Still, he is an exceptional talent. Here's to hoping the twins can sign him to an extension. But, the Twins don't exactly inspire confidence in me. I am sure the General Manager will find a way to show the baseball world just how to mess up a trade by getting less than an acceptable return.

It kills me every night that the Twins gave away Johan Santana for four minor league players. They aren't prospects anymore in my eyes. Only Mulvey has a chance to make a rotation down the line. Humber is a flat-out bust. He is 26 now and if he isn't doing it and earning his keep at the big league level, then he probably never will. The name Josh Rupe rings a bell. Gomez makes it hard to root for him because he has no plate discipline. He'll probably never be more than a fourth outfielder in the NL.

Seeing Johan dominate is very devastating to me. For some reason, I compare it to the time recently when I discovered my elementary school crush on facebook. She looks nothing like I remember her from back in the day. Granted, father time is undefeated and I am not one to talk. Our best features usually detiorate after the age of 22. For NFL running backs, the age is 30. But just seeing her and thinking about Johan dominating in another uniform made me particulary melancholic.
